Today's entrance antiphon is so beautiful, which fully expresses the mystery of Incarnation of Jesus.
It says: Puer natus est nobis, et filius datus est nobis...
why/what is purpose of the Incarnation? It seems as if it were a double purpose acoording to today's liturgy. The Gospel tells us that the Incartnation of Jesus makes us become children of God (John 1:12). The Post communion confirms what the Gospel says, which goes in this way that" Father, the child born today is the Saviour of the world. He made us your children."
While the Liturgy of the Hours shows us another apsect. The Concluding prayer says:
O,God human nature is the wonderful work of your hands; still more wonderful, the way you redeemed it. We ask you to make us sharers in the divinity of Christ, who deigned to share in our humanity.
The office of readings taken from St. Leo the Great says so:"Christian, remember your dignity, and now that you share in God’s own nature, do not return by sin to your former base condition. Bear in mind who is your head and of whose body you are a member."
Along similar lines, I took preface No 3. of Christmas that says:"...God has become one with man, and man has become one again
with God. Your eternal Word has taken upon himself our human weakness, giving our mortal nature immortal value. So marvelous is
this onenes between God and man that in Christ man restores to man the gift of everlasting life."
That is the mystery of Incarnation."
